"Go deliver this to Zurial," was all her Creator/Alpha said to her.
A girl sighed as she ran through the worst of the blizzard, the biggest storm of the year. So said the sheriff, of which gratefully was now an ally. Which made the whole group relax. There was no more hiding and none of the stealing bags. Though they didn't make that much of a good first impression. The sheriff happened to cross a fight of one of the boys. That of which, their Creator, Pauline, had to quickly get to them and explain what they were and that they weren't a threat.
She paused and cursed. She had lost her way. Her pitch black hair was whipping in the wind mercilessly. She was wearing a parka and black skinny jeans, though it wasn't necessary for her to dress warm. She was about 5 foot 3, give or take. She was slender, but so was every other half-vampire turned by Pauline (thought she was the only one that could change anyone). There 3-5 days of the most excruciating pain imaginable, then when it was all done with you would be in the greatest and highest physical peak for the rest of your life. There was some muscle build, but it was mostly the agility that was needed.
it was half of the population of Barrow that was turned by Pauline. So someone had once said that Barrow was now the sexiest town in the U.S. That brought a low chuckle from her throat. She huffed and stuck her nose in the air, trying to pick up the scent of Pauline's ex mate. When she found it, she latched her nose on to it and followed it. All she needed to do was to leave the envelope in Zurial's room and leave. she was faster than all of the vamps there. She there wasn't any concern if there was a chance of them catching her.
Once she was done with that, she would report on how they were progressing....then....
Ah ha! She thought her nose led her to the old abandoned warehouse. She sniffed around making sure that her sight was right. It was, there wasn't anyone of anything nearby. She ran around and found an entrance that she should use to get in and use as a quick escape. She hopped in, making a light thumping noise as she landed. she ran, still following her nose, hoping that no one would take notice to her presence. Her nose led her to Zurial's room. She sniffed and pressed her fingertips against the door. She smelled nothing in there, and felt no vibrations. She opened the door and pushed it open...Now it was a very delicate situation. She had to be like the wind, very brief and without any evidence. She ran in and left it on his bed. She turned and ran out of the warehouse.
Just as I planned; in and out just like a breeze, she thought with a chuckle.
Then something wrapped around her wrist and flung her backwards into something solid.
"My, my, my." a man's voice said. She kicked him in the gut and he promptly let go of her with a grunt. She turned to make a run for it, but another man was in her way. She hissed her frustration and leap over the man with east. Then she took off at full speed, she made it into the woods. She noticed something that disturbed her, the blizzard had stopped. She cursed. Now they could hunt her down and she had two hours before dawn. There was nowhere she could run where they wouldn't follow. She remembered now who they were: Remus and Romulus. They were twins and after the first centuries of being vampires, they had acquired a huge ego and changed their names. Pauline didn't like them much, said they had disgraced the names of legend.
"Come on now, Lovely," Romulus said, coaxing her, licking his lips. She scowled and snarled at him.
"Disgusting asshole," she said. They chuckled and started to circle her. She growled and hissed, trying to make herself seem more intimidating. But they only laughed, then Remus lunged. she saw it and braced herself for the impact...but all she heard was screaming...and to her pleasure, it wasn't her own.
She saw half of Remus' face being ripped off and him crumbling to the ground. Romulus screeched and ran off, Remus stumbling half blind after his brother.
"Who might this be?" a woman said. She turned and stared into the darkness.
"A regular teenage girl out in the middle of the woods." a man's voice said. "I think not."
"Ah..." the woman said. She saw them pale in the darkness. "She's one of them new breed of vampires...under that Pauline girl."
"she's not just a girl, she's all of our Creator!" the girl defended Pauline. "And I'M her her second in command."
"Yes," the man replied, "you're Rebecca." The girl, Rebecca, lifted her chin up in the air.
"I prefer Bekah, thank you." Rebecca, Bekah said. They both chuckled. Rebecca remembered now. This was Stella and Eben, the full vamps that protected Barrow. They were also allies with Pauline, due to their situation. Also some other vampires, but that was for their benefits and that was a totally different story...too complicated to go into. Pauline was in full responsibility of them, making sure they didn't eat anyone.
"what are you doing out here?" Stella asked, "I thought part of the agreement was that we keep an eye on them."
"Running an errand," Bekah said, shrugging her shoulders, "Had to drop off an envelope for...him."
"Why couldn't Pauline go?" Eben asked. Bekah took a second to gather them in. Eben was about 6 foot 2 and Stella about 5 foot 8. They both were in good shape, but from what Becca heard from Pauline, Eben was sheriff, and he saved Barrow the first the vampires attacked. But at his own life, he turned into a vampire and killed the oldest vamp. Then Stella went all out on revenge and started to kill off the vamps. Then something happened and they were back together now. The were opposites; Eben dark haired and Stella light haired. It didn't matter what color eyes they had when they were alive, they were vampires now. Now their whole eyes were just black.
"She has to keep an eye on the full vamps back at Barrow." Bekah said, pondering on that thought for a bit. "the vamps aren't used to living off of blood bags." they stared at each other and nodded.
"We'll come back with you," Stella said, "We need to talk with Pauline." Bekah shrugged her shoulders.
"Okay..." Bekah said, "But I won't slow down for you."
They both chuckled.
"I think we can keep up with you," Eben said.
"We'll see." Bekah said, and with a brief turn on her heel and she was gone. She knew her way back home better than finding Zurial. so it was a few minutes run back, where it would take humans a couple of days. Then beyond the horizon, she saw Barrow. Once she was at the towns edge, she stopped. Eben and Stella followed up behind her in a few minutes.
"My," Eben huffed with a grin, "You half-vampires are fast." Becca grinned
"Of course we are," the strong voice of Pauline said, though she was a couple of blocks down. Becca grinned. Pauline was shorter than she was, 5 feet 0, on the dot. Her hair was in dark reddish brown locks, waves that flowed past her shoulders to her hips. She was tiny, and had an unnaturally small waist, waist training was glorious she would say. Her yes were a wonderful brown with red around the pupil and a rusty brown blended around that.
Bekah's own eyes were and extraordinary green, of which would glow into the night, until the blackness of her pupil would swallow the green and white.
When Pauline was finally near them, Eben grinned at her.
"That's some voice you have there," he said to Pauline. she grinned back and inclined her a head a bit.
"Theatre...." she said, "it never leaves you."
"We need to talk about the next darkness," Stella said. Pauline sighed and nodded.
"Yes, of course." Pauline said, motioning them to follow with her hand. "Bekah, make sure the full vamps go to sleep...it's almost dawn. Then come back home."
"yes, " Bekah said and walked away. She turned back and they were just gone. She shook her head and ran to where the full vamps hung out.
It was at the Diner, and there were three in their group. Two females and one guy. Luna, Selena, and Apollo. they were far older than Romulus and Remus.
Luna had pitch black hair and she was tall. she was skinny and had little if none curves. Becca always thought she had pretty shaped eyes. Selena looked similar to Luna, except that she had silver-ish blond hair.
Apollo was both Selena's and Luna's husband. He had chin length waves, choppily cut. he had broad shoulders and had a wiry build. He was attractive and he had asked both Becca and Pauline to become his wives as well. Pauline had laughed and Bekah had growled at him.
"hey," Bekah said and they all looked up at her.
"Hello, my dear," Apollo said huskily.
"glad Zurial didn't eat you," Selena said bitterly. Luna scoffed. Though they were both used to sharing their husband they didn't like the thought of more women added.
"Same here," Bekah said coyly. "Pauline said it's time you all settle down." Apollo nodded his head in agreement, and Bekah noticed the room relaxing quite some bit. She chuckled.
"Come along my wives," Apollo said and they followed in suit. They walked down the street and the sir was getting more chillier. "Zurial will be here soon," he said to her. "I hope your leader is ready for him."
"We're training our people to fight them."
"He has years over you halflings," Luna said.
"true," Bekah said, "but the most important thing is that you all keep your word and fight with us." Apollo stopped and his wives stopped immediately and stared up at him expectantly.
"We always keep out word." he said, his expression grim, his lips were set.
"then we should be good," Bekah said, "Pauline is a good leader."
"for someone so young...." Apollo said, "Indeed, she is....But she is still young. She has a lot to learn."
"Not only that," Selena approved, "She accumulated good allies. The humans and the vampires Eben and Stella." Luna nodded. Bekah grinned, there was another ally Pauline had gathered, but that was a surprise.
"Well, come on," Bekah said, " You have 30 more minutes before you fry."
"too true," Luna shuddered. "I can feel sun on my back." Bekah laughed. Then they just ran to their house. Pauline made the humans promise not to kill these vamps. Made them swear it. Grudgingly, they did. Becca made sure they were in and there was no leakage of sunlight.
"Alright..." Bekah said. "catch you guys later."
"Goodbye," both Selena and Luna said. Apollo just nodded his head. She walked out and locked it with a keypad. It wasn't to keep them in, oh no,. If they could break in, they surely could break out. It was to keep the humans out.
Bekah walked down the street to their house. The sunrise was breath taking. She was glad that she was half-vampire. She could live her life normally...well, kind of. She wouldn't age, she would stay in the very peak of her health forever. She walked into the house that they bought together since the first time they moved here. Pauline grinned when she saw her, but she had all around her papers most likely from Eben and Stella, and maybe some more from the sheriff.
"Good news?"
"Amazing news," Pauline said, "Our other friends will be here soon."
"that is good news," Becca said with a grin. Pauline laughed.
"Yes," Pauline said, "Not only will Barrow be the sexiest town in the U.S., but!" she held up a finger, " we'll be the town of the party animals!" Both of them rolled and laughed.
